Worth knowing before you commit

  • Hebbe Falls needs a forest-department jeep from Kemmangundi — private cars cannot go.
  • Dubare's elephant interaction runs on a morning slot and is capped; late arrivals are turned away.
  • June to September brings leeches on estate walks. Salt and long socks.
  • Bangalore to Coorg is 6 hours on a good day and 8 on a Friday evening.

Common questions

Monsoon or not?

June to September is spectacular and very wet — leeches on the estate walks, and Mullayanagiri often closed in cloud. Worth it if you like rain, otherwise come after October.
