Questions people ask before booking
What is the SDF and is it included?
Bhutan charges a Sustainable Development Fee per night. The Indian-national rate is included in your price. If you hold a non-Indian passport the rate is considerably higher — tell us at booking and we will requote.
How hard is the Tiger's Nest climb?
It is a steep 900m ascent taking two to three hours up, at altitude. There is a cafeteria roughly halfway that is a perfectly respectable turnaround point. Horses go as far as the cafeteria but not to the monastery.
Why overland and not fly into Paro?
Drukair into Paro roughly doubles the trip cost. Overland via Phuentsholing is how most Indian travellers actually do Bhutan, and the drive up is genuinely good.
